Seeing the simple light........

Our pop up coffee stop in December was a great success and it was so rewarding to see so many getting out to blow the Christmas cobwebs away and head to our barn.

When minds like ours are full of ideas, it’s tricky to keep things simple! We are aiming to do just that over the coming year, simple yet effective! Just like our pop up, keeping it simple is pretty refreshing nowadays when life seems to get more and more complicated, basic surroundings yet effective, simple treats yet delicious etc etc.

This January and February, we are making our lives easier by working on bringing water into the barn trying not to over complicate it isn’t easy when we have spent years on making the Lone Barn as a whole simply a fabulous place to live and now share with others and it certainly hasn’t been a simple affair!!

So our next pop up 22nd, 23rd and 24th February we shall be up and running in our simple way in the barn albeit more efficiently we hope ! So pop it in the diary and head out this way for a simple escape!!

Our first Rural Retreat was a huge success in December too with 15 ladies creating beautifully foraged foliage creations to adorn their homes for Christmas. Simple soup and sourdough for lunch, sipping hot Glogg around the fire

and lots of chat and endless coffee and mince pies in our beautiful rustic barn was a way to get away from the frenetic rush that Christmas can bring.

This weekend in conjunction with the wonderful team at Sew Creative in Petersfield we are holding a Creative Textiles retreat. Simply an opportunity to beat the February blues and head to the countryside for inspiration and then find the inner creative. The day is including lunch in our Stables cottage and we can’t think of a better way to spend a February Sunday. The day has been fully booked now for a while, watch this space for further days .

We all dream of rushing off to far off parts of the world, us included. Having just celebrated my Mothers’ 80th birthday simply with a gathering of family in a gorgeous

holiday house near Bath, it was simply all that was required to have a memorable weekend.

Our Stables cottage here at The Lone Barn along with our bed and breakfast accommodation, makes a great destination for a weekend away for an extended family or with friends. Simply e:mail us, it doesn’t have to be complicated and we can give you some ideas of what we can offer you for a weekend away in Hampshire. Valentine’s Day Book a 2 night stay in our Stables cottage over Valentine’s Day and get a £50 voucher for the Bat and Ball pub with your booking. Seeing the simple light, long may it last - simply a trip to Lone Barn whether it be to stay, take part in one of our Rural Retreat days or cycling or walking to one of our Pop Up Coffee Stops could be just up your street for 2019.See you soon.
