life in the slow lane

We aim to give our visitors a relaxed environment for you to take time out in.We are a small individual family run pop up.Sometimes if its busy there might be a wait.  Please bear in mind we are not an express cafe and bear with us if we are experiencing a busy moment.

We would really appreciated a ‘heads up’ if you plan to bring a  group 10 is our max including children - a simple text would suffice.  Thanks Team LB

In our fabulously gorgeous thatched barn which dates back to the early 1700’s we hold a monthly Pop Up Coffee stop aimed at anyone wanting to escape to the countryside and seek out some refreshment and to ’find a way to getaway’ in a unique and quirky space.  Open 9-4 generally on the last full weekend of each month on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday (if a bank holiday falls on the Monday of the same weekend then we open then too).  Always double check our calendar for dates we are open just in case we have a change of plan.  Follow us on Instagram and Facebook where you will get regular updates when we are open and what is offered at the pop up, or sign up to our newsletter for monthly updates.

Lots of tables inside and out - in winter the barn is lightly heated with a few gas heaters and a fire pit in the courtyard if its dry, wrap up warm though as it is still a rustic space.  In summer, visitors spill in to the garden and on to the courtyard.  We attract cyclists, walkers, runners, families, couples, groups of friends and day trippers.  Tables decked with board games, puzzles, daily newspapers, and magazines ensuring you have something to occupy you on your visit.

Walk into the smell of freshly brewed pour over coffees, teas, hot chocolates too.  Soup in winter, cakes all the time which Mel makes herself normally a choice of about 7 or 8 and usually a vegan and a gluten free option amongst them.  A savoury option is usually offered too.
